Supporting your faithful companion's health and comfort throughout their golden years.
Silver-haired pets have a charm all their own. Some have acquired a calm, wise demeanor while others still act very much like puppies or kittens. Either way, they need even more care now than ever. Senior pets are more vulnerable to all types of health complications. This is why their pet parents and their veterinary team need to work together to ensure they continue living their best lives. Call us at 807-939-2616 for more details.
It all depends on their species, breed and even their size. Dogs are considered senior-age when they reach 7 to 11-years-old. Cats are seen as seniors when they are about 11 to 14-years-old. Pets beyond those years are classified as “super seniors”.
Please rest assured it is normal for your pet’s demeanor and attitude to change as the years go by. These may be due to regular aging or they may be symptoms of underlying conditions. If you are unsure or concerned in any way, please reach out to our team.
We recommend older pets come in for a full veterinary checkup about two times per year. This will allow us to diagnose any issues early on and ensure they have the best quality of life possible.
