How can I stop my pet from getting parasites?

The best thing you can do is make sure your pet is taking parasite prevention medications. Depending on your pet’s needs you can choose from different types of formulas (e.g. topical, oral, liquid) and dosing schedules (e.g. monthly, bi-monthy).

When should my pet receive parasite control medications?

Pets can start taking parasite control medications during the puppy/kitten stage at around 8-weeks-old. They should continue receiving parasite control medications all throughout their life to stay protected. The type of medications required may change as the years go by. For example, if you move to a region where certain parasites are more prevalent, they will need protection against those. That being said, certain medications protect against a wide range of parasites.

Do pets need parasite control in the winter?

Absolutely! Many parasites can still thrive and reproduce in the colder months. They can also make their way inside your home. It’s important pets have year-round protection.
