Euthanasia

A compassionate and humane procedure for relieving your pet's chronic pain and discomfort.

Pets aren’t just loyal companions. They are family. As pet parents ourselves, we understand the pain you are going through as your pet nears the end of their life. Our team will be with you every step of the way throughout this difficult process. When you are ready to start the conversation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 807-939-2616.

What is pet euthanasia?

Pet euthanasia is a medically induced and humane death. It is only recommended when all other treatments for your pet’s chronic illness or chronic pain have been exhausted. The process takes only a few minutes. The euthanasia drug is administered via IV. It first causes your pet to peacefully fall asleep. Once they are sleeping, it will cause their organs to fail. It is 100% pain free.

How can I comfort my pet during their euthanasia?

You are welcome to be with your pet in the room while the procedure takes place. (You are also welcome not to accompany them, if being present will be too painful for you. If you choose this route, one of our technicians will ensure your pet is comforted.) You can hold their paws and pet them until their very last moments. We recommend bringing their favourite toy or blanket with them during the appointment.
